Description
A bit northwest of Malaga, in a fertile and undulating landscape is the farm Finca Solmark. Here in an eye-popping nature, near the small village of Carratraca former IT entrepreneur Swedish Pelle Lundborg settled down at the beginning of 2018 to start a new life.
With great energy and foresight, he tackled the run-down land and its buildings. Extensive renovations and new plantings were required to realize the dream of sustainable and environmentally friendly living and the operation of an organic fruit farm. Now he proudly shows off today's finca and talks about the development that has taken place since the start. Mainly avocados, kiwis and citrus fruits are grown here, but also vegetables. Honey also contributes to production. A large part of the harvest is regularly sent by truck to Sweden, often to previous visiting guests.
With the help of IT and technology, Pelle runs his farms in a rather unconventional way which he draws attention to. He was appointed in December 2022 by Sydkusten.es as Swede of the Year 2022 on the Costa del Sol.
We are welcomed by Pelle and given a guided tour of his finca. He offers a tasting of the farm's crops and also in honey tasting (8 varieties) from the finca's own beehives. It is also possible to purchase products. Payment is made in cash or by card, Swish (for Swedish bank customers) also works well.
After our visit its time to go to Carratraca where we have lunch at one of the village's nice restaurants.
On the way back to Nerja and Almuñécar, we may make a short stop on request.
Full day trip approx. 8 hours. The bus departs from Almuñécar, from Hotel Helios and Aqua Tropic Water Park (Parque Acuático de agua salada en Almuñécar) and from the bus station in Nerja (Estación de Autobuses Nerja). Specify your stop when booking. In the case of larger groups that have a different preference for pick-up, this can possibly be arranged after agreement with us.
